De Wetshof Bataleur Chardonnay
Cellar: | De Morgenzon Estate, Stellenbosch, South Africa |
Description: | The De Wetshof Bataleur Chardonnay (1 x 750ml) is named after the Bateleur, one of Africa’s most majestic birds of prey, as a tribute to the power and grace of a creature synonymous with our great continent. This single vineyard Chardonnay portrays a spectrum of flavours framed in elegance and complexity, typical features of a classic Chardonnay3. It has citrus and pear-drop notes complemented by an intriguing nuttiness, with an elegant citrus finish3. The wine is grown in gravel soils originating from mountain rock rich in limestone and clay with a high pH. The Bateleur improves in dimension and complexity with age and under the correct storage conditions, it can mature in the bottle for many years. |
