Description: | An intense, vivid purple colour with slight gradation at the rim. On the nose the wine shows pronounced plum and classic cedar wood-cigar box notes with lifted dark fruit aromas. There is the characteristic hallmark aromas of fennel and liquorice associated with Meerlust Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate it is full-bodied, structured but packed with fresh dark fruit and rounded, linear tannins. |

Tasting Notes: | The palate shows good tannic grip to frame the more pronounced fleshy plum and cherry flavors, which carry through with moderate intensity to the medium-length finish. There is a nice purple flower element as well, with a soft mentholated herbal character reminiscent of black currant leaf. The wine has aromas of cranberry, subtle cassis and blackberry with underlying notes of vanilla and oak. The wine is fresh and elegant with a smooth lingering aftertaste. |
